drawing at the park

today was really nice! the sketching group i hang out with met at a park i've never been to before. the weather was beautiful, and i loved sitting in the grass and drawing a few of the things i saw and heard.

an assortment of sketches and notes. the sketches: a leafy tree, a tall tree stump, a barn, a chicken, and a fence. near the chicken there's a speech bubble that says 'hello chickens!' in all caps. by tthe fence, another speech bubble that says 'baaaaa', again in all caps. the leafy tree has arrow pointing to it labeled 'cicadas'. there's also a list of birds from merlin bird ID: grey catbird, barn swallow, goldfinch, and red-tailed hawk (which scares the chickens)

P.S.

for a few weeks i've been saying things like ahhh the cicadas are too high up in the trees... and i wanna see a cicada so bad... and come down to the ground cicadas i need to see you... and today we finally found one! recently eclosed and still a bit green on the wings. it let me pick it up! hooray!
